Social ProgramACSOS 2024

The organizing committee of ACSOS 2024 has the great pleasure of offering a series of social events to complement the conference’s technical program and help you relax, network, and enjoy your travel as much as possible. In addition, the OC is happy to recommend several ways to enjoy and explore Aarhus during your stay in the city, with sightseeing, pubs, and restaurants. Tuesday, September 17th: Reception at The modern art museum (ARoS)

The modern art museum ARoS is located in the heart of Aarhus (Aros Allé 2, 8000 Aarhus), and we are delighted to hold the conference reception at the museum restaurant on level 8, beginning at 6pm.

Participants of the conference can explore the museum using the included museum ticket before the reception. They can enjoy modern and contemporary art and a walk in the colorful ring called ‘Your rainbow panorama’ by Olafur Eliasson.

At the reception, we will enjoy different kinds of charcuterie and cheeses, served with caper berries, olives, and a variety of mayonnaises and tapenades on beautiful wooden boards. We will also enjoy delicious homemade bread, whipped butter, and maybe a glass of wine or beer.

Wednesday, September 18th: Conference dinner at Centralværkstedet

The main conference dinner will be hosted at the Centralværkstedet, the Aarhus Central Workshops (Værkmestergade 9, 8000 Aarhus), a former train repair facility now turned into a fine dining and event location. We will enjoy a three-course menu and have the evening to celebrate and re-connect.

Special event (on-demand) Events

This year, we are excited to offer additional social events around the conference. These events will be offered in addition to the main conference and can be booked individually. Please be aware that the events can only take place if a certain number of people have signed up 14 days before the respective event. You can sign up until the day of the event. Unfortunately, we cannot refund any cancellation 14 days prior to the event. The list of on-demand events can be found here.

Recommended Dinner Venues

If you are not a fan of outdoor dining at the Mols Bjerge or with the Sea Rangers after a RIB boat tour, Aarhus has a plethora of alternatives. From the youthful areas of Latinerkvarteret, where you find all kinds of smaller locations, to the up-and-coming Aarhus Docklands, with small, high-end water-front dining options, there is something for everyone.
